Colts football experts Henry Aryee says the proliferation of disguised academies is the cause for the fallen standards of juvenile football in the country.

The former owner of Mamprobi-based BT International believes standard and quality of play has been affected.

Aryeee says many of the football academies do not meet requirements and are hurting the game.

Ghana is struggling to dominate youth football on the continent and in the world in the new millennium and Aryee knows why.

''The Academies are not helping because there was this policy being introduced namely 'Boots and Books' and that when you are not in school you are not allowed to progress in football development.

''But if you look back during the days where colts was gelling, you would realize that most of the boys playing had enough time to train and getting the results am not totally condemning the books.

''The facilities at the academy level are not available because many of them do not meet the requirement of setting up an academy.

''We'll be deceiving ourselves to say that Academy system is helping which I beg to differ but I can say that it has led to the fallen standards of football in the country.''
