Confederation Cup: Black Stars players to watch Hearts of Oak-Esperance clash on Saturday to support the Phobians

The Black Stars team will be at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday to support Hearts of Oak as they attempt a miraculous comeback against Esperance in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Phobians must overturn a staggering 4-0 deficit suffered in the first leg of the ultimate preliminary qualifier to have any chance of progressing into the group stage of Africa’s second tier club competition.

Hearts players and officials are soliciting massive support from their fans and all Ghanaians for as they go in search of yet another history making feat against the Tunisian giants.

The Black Stars players who are set to begin non-residential preparations for their opening 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius have responded to this call and will be at the stadium on Saturday to support the team.

“The Black Stars will not be using the Accra Sports Stadium until after Hearts of Oak’s match against Esperance,” GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara said.

“We want to give Hearts all the support they need to ensure they are successful in this important game.

“Everyone including the Black Stars players and GFA officials will be at the stadium on Saturday to support them.”

This means likes of Asamoah Gyan, Jonathan Mensah, Christian Atsu, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Mubarak Wakaso will all be on hand to add some colour to the electric ambiance expected to be generated on Saturday for Hearts’ match.

The Black Stars meanwhile will be training at an unnamed facility in Dodowa as part of preparations towards the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius on June 14.
