Asante Kotoko coach Michael Osei believes the team is in the best of shapes going into the big Kumasi derby against King Faisal.

The champions have won every single match they have played since their disappointing early exit from the CAF Champions League.

Kotoko have stretched their lead to 12 points in the Ghanaian top flight and look to further extend this lead in the midweek clash against their cross town rivals.

And assistant coach Osei is counting on the boosted confidence of the team to override the sheer determination expected of their opposition on Wednesday.

“We have prepared for this game. We all know how tough derby games are but we have prepared for it,” he told Metro FM.

“Recent results have also helped us regain the needed confidence for matches like this one.

“So I believe we are ready for this game against King Faisal.”
