The Ghana FA has confirmed that the new Premier League season will start next month after nearly four months of delay as exclusively reported by GHANAsoccernet.com yesterday.

Ghana's leading football news outfit exclusively revealed on Wednesday that the top-flight league will start on 20 February 2016.

The GFA has now sent a press release confirming that the Premier League and Division One Leagues will commence on the same date.

"The Ghana Football Association (GFA) wishes to announce to all stakeholders that the 2015/2016 Football Season will kick-off on Saturday February 20, 2016," the GFA statement on Thursday read.

"Both the Premier and Division One Leagues will commence on the same date.

"Fixtures for the new season will be announced soon."

The start of the league season had been shrouded in uncertainties following legal wranglings involving some clubs at the end of last season.

It was looks like the settling of the disputes, the GFA has now told clubs who can register players for the start of the season with Dwarfs, Dreams FC and Techiman City confirmed as the promoted clubs.

Clubs have been given one month to finalize preparations for the new season.

The transfer window shut on Wednesday and clubs were very active on the market with the focus on putting the teams in shape.

This confirms that B.A United, Heart of Lions and Great Olympics have been demoted to the second tier which also starts on the same date at the Premier League.
