Confusion over Duncan status, sacked Hearts coach won't be on bench
David Duncan will not be on the bench on Sunday

Contrary to their statement that sacked coach David Duncan will be on Hearts' bench for Sunday's league match against Amidaus, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that the well-liked manager will not be leading the side in the game in Tema.

The club's assistant coach Ben Adjei will take charge of the side for Sunday's game but Duncan who has enjoyed a massive show of support from the fans and the media will attend the match.

The massive opposition by the fans over the decision to sack the coach on Friday forced the unpopular board of Togbui Afede to reinstate the coach via Twitter.

Supporters mounted demonstrations against the board over the risky decision which seems to have shocked Afede, an astute businessman and a respected king but a novice in football administration.

This seems to have forced the board to issue the statement on Twitter which was taken down minutes later, sparking a new wave of confusion for the Accra-based club.

The statement read: "David Duncan has been reinstated as the coach of Hearts of Oak for now. The board will meet on Monday or Thursday to take a final decision."

But club insiders have told GHANAsoccernet.com, Ghana'e leading football news outlet, Duncan will not be on the bench.
