Contrasting starts for Ayew brothers in England
Andre and Jordan Ayew

Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan couldn't have made more contrasting starts to life in the English Premier League.

The sons of legendary African footballer Abedi Pele joined Swansea and Aston Villa respectively ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

Andre ended his family's long standing relationship with French Ligue 1 club Marseille, joining the Swans on a free transfer - father Abedi won the UEFA Champions League with OM in 1993 while younger brother Jordan played alongside Andre before moving to Lorient.

Swansea made a barnstorming start to the league season before defeat to Watford at the weekend. The Welsh side recorded a memorable 2-1 win over Manchester United having held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw on the opening day.

Andre has been one of the club's top performers, with his exploits earning him the Barclays Premier League player of the moth award after scoring three goals and assisting a further goal in his first four games for the club.

Renowned data analysis website WhoScored.com rate Ayew's first five games for the Welsh outfit as a 7.29/10, with Andre placing 46th in the country.

In complete contrast, Jordan currently occupies 258th place in England having failed to make an impact in the 173 minutes of playing time under Tim Sherwood - his rating is 6.15/10.

Villa got their campaign off to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth, but haven't won since in the league, with a 3-2 defeat to Leicester City highlighting the club's frailties with the Foxes fighting back from two goals down to claim the spoils.

Jordan joined Villa for an initial fee of £8.5million, which could potentially rise to £10m.
