Controversial referee Joseph Lamptey has been named the center man for the grand finale between New Edubiase and AshantiGold.

Lamptey, despite being a Fifa referee (one of the finest from Ghana) with worth of experience goofed big time during last season’s Caf Champions League game where he awarded what proved to be a bad goal to Esperance in their semi final match against Al Ahly.

He was thus suspended alongside his assistants by Caf for six-months after the Egyptian giants presented an official complaint to the continent’s governing body.

The Accra-based referee will be assisted on the lines by David Laryea (Accra) and AS Malik (Tamale) with Ceceil Fletcher (Takoradi) serving as the fourth official.

GB Awuakye will be the Match Commissioner for the game to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The match kicks off at 3pm local time.
