Captain Asamoah Gyan is confident of making a full recovery in time to play for Ghana in the finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Al Ain ace failed a late fitness test to remain on the Black Stars bench in the comprehensive 3-0 win over hosts Equatorial Guinea in the semi final match on Thursday.
Gyanââ¬â¢s absence was not massively felt as Ghanaââ¬â¢s opening group defeat to Senegal as Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso and Andre Ayew scored to put the result beyond doubt in the game troubled by crowd violence.
There is however a growing feeling the 29-year-old will be badly needed by Ghana in Sundayââ¬â¢s grand finale against Cote dââ¬â¢Ivoire in Bata but the Ghana camp have remained tight-lipped on the health status of their captain.
Gyan is however very optimistic of playing in the finals which is barely two days away.
ââ¬ÅRight now I am responding to treatments and it is going well,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s just about three days to the finals so we will see.ââ¬
