Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Hayford will spend the rest of the month in the treatment room with a shifted neckbone, the club has officially announced.
The 20-year-old is still responding to treatment from a horrible neck injury he sustained in the Phobians' 2-1 loss against Medeama SC in the First Capital Plus Ghana Premier League last week.
Hayford was rushed from the Tarkwa & Abowso Park to hospital following a Kabiru Moro horrendous rugby-styled criminal tackle in the 40th minute of the tie though the striker claimed on an Accra-based radio station - Oman FM, that he did nothing harmful to the midfielder.
Scan reports have confirmed the highly-rated midfielder suffered a neck problem and will need a couple of weeks to resume training.
The former Amidaus Professionals midfielder had rediscovered his form under Mohammed Polo and inspiring Hearts in the league before suffering the injury.
Hearts have a considerable number of their first team regulars on their injury list. Winger Ollenu Ashitey made a return to play in their 0-0 stalemate against King Faisal but Thomas Abbey, Kenneth Okoro, Gilbert Fiamenyo, Winful Cobbinah and Obed Ansah (long-term) are all out.
2014 Ghana CHAN defender Nuru Sulley has also made inconsistent appearances for the former African champions since his return from South Africa.
