Crocked Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah undergoes successful surgery, set to return in 45 days

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has undergone a successful surgery on a knee injury which will keep him out of action for 45 days, the club has announced.

The Ghanaian picked up the injury during Juventus 1-0 win over Palermo on Saturday.

It was announced he would require a knee surgery to correct the latest setback and the club has confirmed the operation was successful.

“Kwadwo Asamoah today underwent successful meniscectomy surgery on his right knee,” the Bianconeri confirmed on their official website.

“The operation was conducted by Professor Cugat in Barcelona in the presence of Juventus club doctor Claudio Rigo.

“The midfielder will begin his rehabilitation programme immediately and the timeframe for his return to action remains the same as originally estimated, namely around 45 days.”

It's been hellish and nightmarish for a player who just returned from a long-injury lay-off.

Asamoah sat out of the 2015/16 season and appeared to have overcome the setback after excelling heavily for his side since the start of the season.
