Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann says Ghanaian midfielder Hiram Boateng must fight for a place to avoid being farmed on loan.

The 20-year-old impressed on his Premier League debut for the Eagles in their 1-1 stalemate at Swansea City over the weekend.

The performance of the Ghanaian has been hugely highlighted in the English media.

Boateng has been hugely linked with a second loan spell with lower side Plymouth Argle but defender Scott Dann says his teammate must work harder to avoid being sent out on loan again.

“Hiram has shown signs in training and the gaffer has shown a bit of confidence to put him on, because he could have put someone else on easily," he told Croydon Advertiser

"It’s up to Hiram now to kick on and try and get on the pitch again."
