Ex-Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba is not surprised by the exclusion of Adam Kwarasey from the country’s 2015 AFCON double-header against Uganda and Togo because he brought it upon himself.

The Stromgodset captain has paid a heavy price for his public criticism of the Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu.

The 26-year-old lashed out at Yakubu and questioned his competence following the Black Stars disastrous campaign at the World Cup in Brazil.

He claimed other issues apart from professional competence were deduced in selecting players during the group phase at the global showpiece.

Kwarasey made a lot of mounting allegations against coach Kwesi Appiah as well and former Hearts keepers’ trainer Abubakar Damba feels the public criticism led to his expulsion.

“I am not surprised, because after the World Cup we heard so many reports about what Kwarsey said about the technical team,” he told Happy FM

“And I think that didn’t sound good for the technical team”.

“And the coach also indicated discipline is very important to get the maximum out of the player. So I personally think it is one of the reasons the coach left him out”.

Kwarasey feels he is a better goalkeeper than Dauda and deserves to get the nod ahead of him.
