Ex Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye is urging the current side to play beyond themselves to emulate the historic feat chalked by the year 2000 crop.
Quaye was part of a talented generation of players for the Phobians that won virtually everything in sight in the year 2000.
Led by the iconic figure of Jones Attuquayefio on the touchlines, the ââ¬â¢64 Battalionââ¬â¢ as they were affectionately known conquered both the local and domestic scene.
They won the CAF Champions League and the Super Cup having enjoyed a sustained spell of domestic success.
The current generation of Hearts players are considered nowhere near the class acts of 2000.
Herbert Addoââ¬â¢s side have however been on a good run so far in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Quaye who now plays for Great Olympics is willing the side on to greatness.
ââ¬ÅI will say that the team of the year 2000 was very different. I call it a dream team and I hope this current team will replicate what we did,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅEven though Hearts won in Mali, Djoliba are also coming to Ghana to get a result. The Phobians must be determined to qualify so they must prepare very well.ââ¬
