Daniel Amartey plays cameo role in Leicester City's Champions League elimination to Partey's Atletico Madrid

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey played a substitute role for Leicester City in their 1-1 against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter final on Tuesday.

Saul Niguez put Los Colcheneros as he headed in Felipe Luiz's lofty cross past Kaspar Schmeichael in the 26th minute to give the away side the advantage at the King Power Stadium.

English striker Jamie Vardy capitalized on a defensive mishap to level the score line for the Foxes in the 60th minute.

The 22-year-old versatile player came on to replace captain Wes Morgan, who sustained an injury in the 84th minute.

His compatriot Thomas Partey, meanwhile failed to make an appearance but his team held on to book a semi final berth for the third time in four years.
