Ghana defender Daniel Opare says he is not eager for a starting place  in Friday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo.

The Standard Liege defender is touted as the favourite to be picked for the left-back position ahead of either David Addy or Lee Addy.

Opare excelled as a second half substitute in Ghana's high profile international friendly game against England in March.

His stellar displays for the Belgian top flight side has earned massive reviews in Europe this term with top clubs rumuored to be interested in him.

But the former Real Madrid youngster wants to keep his calm and not get carried away.

"It's a great opportunity to be in this team and therefore not interested in whether I get the chance to start or not," Opare said.

"What is important is that we win the game. I’m not concerned at all whether I stay on the bench or not."
