Danish giants FC Midtjylland have declared they are ready to release Ghanaian international defender Francis Dickoh whose contract expires in the winter.

FC Midtjylland manager Jess Thorup has told the defender he will not be needed at the club as Kian Hansen and Erik Sviatchenko have been brought in as permanent solutions to the center-back problems.

Dickoh, 32, featured regularly (26 times) for Midtjylland last season as replacement for the injured Jim Larsen and helped them to claim the Danish title.

But he is has been told by the club's Sporting Director he is a surplus to requirement at the club and is free to move.

"I've had a good talk with Francis, and we have said to him that if the right opportunity comes up, we will not stand in his way. He is a top professional player who has done well for the club, so it's only fair," Sporting Director Steinlein told Bold.dk.

Dickoh, who was capped 13 times by Ghana, has had spells at FC Utrecht and Scottish side Hibernian.
