Fatawu Dauda to wait longer to make Premier League debut for Orlando Pirates

Ghana goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda cannot play for Orlando Pirates in the South African top flight due to complications with his registration.

The first choice Black Stars goalkeeper is yet to make his debut since joining the Buccaneers at the beginning of the season.

There is a growing concern over the inactivity of the ex AshantiGold shot-stopper following his below par performance in Ghana’s win over Zambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifier.

It has however emerged the 27-year-old cannot be picked by coach Roger de Sa as he is yet to receive clearance from the South African FA despite obtaining his work permit.

“Dauda’s registration request has been forwarded to Safa, with the club now waiting for Safa to complete it,” Pirates administrative manager Floyd Mbele confirmed.

“The most important thing is that registration request was done before the transfer window closed – that is what matters.”
