Ghana attacker David Accam scored his 9th goal of the season for Chicago Fire who slipped to yet another defeat after going down 2-1 against Canadian side Montreal Impact in the American Major League Soccer.

The Black Stars player, 24, scored in the 50th minute to half the deficit for Fire at the Stade Saputo before missing an unbelievable chance after rounding up three defenders and skying his effort close in the 16 yard box.

Didier Drogba scored a controversial opening goal and Impact interim head coach Mauro Biello’s first two substitutes, Andres Romero and Patrice Bernier, combined to create the winner as the Montreal Impact defeated the Chicago with Ghanaian winger Dominic Oduro excelling in 88 minutes.

A lunging Donny Toia got a touch to deflect it onto the woodwork, but David Accam bombed forward to head the ball into an empty net at the far post.

Patrick Nyarko also started the game for Fire and was replaced midway through the second-half as they suffered their first defeat under stop-gap trainer Brian Bliss.

Accam's rare miss has dominated the talks on Twitter as Fire have slipped to 10th place (bottom) in the Western Conference table.
