Striker David Accam says Ghanaians shouldn’t be too concerned about the potential opponents to be drawn by the Black Stars in the next phase of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana is one of 20 countries which will be drawn in five groups of four in the final phase of the qualifiers towards the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Black Stars will be aiming to make a fourth successive qualification to the finals as one of the favourites to have made it through to the final round of qualifiers.

Ghana, despite their likelihood of being seeded per the CAF and FIFA rankings, could well be drawn against some of the big football nations on the continent.

But David Accam wants the focus shifted from Ghana’s potential opponents to the quality preparations needed to see the side sail through.

“Every country now knows how to play football so we shouldn’t be too much concerned by the opponents we’re going to draw,” he told Happy FM.

“We should be focused on preparing ourselves well enough to face any opposition we draw.”
