Ghana attacker David Accam was on hand to give Helsingborg IF a narrow win and secure their progress in the Swedish Svenska Cupen after scoring the only goal of the game against Ljungskile.

Helsingborg boss Roar Hansen fielded a strong side that included the Ghanaian duo Accam and Ema Boateng but the former Allsvenskan champions failed to break down the Superettan side.

The Reds created a flurry of scoring chances but they failed to convert before the 64th minute when Accam raced to volley in deflected cross from the far post to hand victory to his side.

While Accam was seeing 90 minutes of action, Boateng was also playing in a supporting striker's role as the main-man behind Accam until the latter was replaced in the 87th minute Christoffer Andersson.

Helsingborg used the game as a warm-up for the Swedish season which kicks off later this month.

"We created a host of chances but we were able to score just once but the most important thing is that we qualified for the next round," Ema Boateng told GHANAsoccernet.com.
