David Addy staying positive after Ghana AFCON snub

Portugal-based defender David Addy wants to concentrate on his club career after failing to make Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations squad.

The left-back was overlooked by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah in his provisional 26-man squad despite impressive displays for Vitoria Guimaraes.

Appiah decided to select Juventus star Kwadwo Appiah, Mubarak Wakaso and Richard Kissi-Boateng.

Addy has made eight appearances for Guimaraes in the Portuguese top-flight this term and scored one goal.

He wants to move on after his hope of a first Nations Cup appearance fizzled into thin air on Thursday afternoon.

"Go with the flow and always be happy with what you have achieved and what you can do in future. Stay positive and I'm very positive," the 22-year-old posted on his official Twitter page.

Addy has not represented Ghana at any tournament since 2009 when he featured for the U20 to win the FIFA World Youth Cup.
