David Duncan insists he’s the right man for Hearts

David Duncan has no doubts he remains the best man to turn Hearts of Oak’s season around.

Duncan, who took over from dismissed CK Akunnor has come under some amount of pressure in recent weeks to turn around their downward spiral.

Hearts lie at a parlous 13th position on the league table after recording three victories, five draws and suffered five defeats.

Irate supporters invaded the team’s training grounds and disrupted the session on Friday ahead of Sunday’s home date against Medeama.

But the former Ashantigold trainer insists he has the ability to turn things around.

“I did not come to Hearts to play seven matches. I’m a problem- solver and I believe we can do it together if we put our minds to it,” Duncan said

“Go and check my record at Ashantigold. I was their longest serving coach and what I was able to do there are well-documented.

“I don’t like to talk about individual players. We are in the process of building a team and it requires time to make it work.

“I will not bow out. I am here to do a specific job and I will do it.”

Hearts could be pushed into relegation if they lose against the Mauves and Yellows at the Accra sports stadium this weekend.
