Gideon Baah leaves to join Ghana camp for the first time

Defender Gideon Baah has boarded a flight from his base in Finland to join up with the Black Stars team in Washington, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 24-year-old left his base in Helsinki on Friday morning and is expected to arrive in the Black Stars camp in Washington later in the evening.

Baah is joining the Ghana team for the first time since receiving his debut senior call up from coach Avram Grant for Tuesday’s friendly match against Canada.

The left-back is being rewarded with the national call up over his consistent displays for HJK Helsinki.

His arrival alongside others will swell up the number of players in the Black Stars camp who will begin training for Tuesday’s friendly against Canada on Friday evening.

Gideon Baah joined HJK Helsinki in 2014 after impressing in his short stint with Honka FC.

He was named the league’s Defender of the Year after helping HJK Helsinki clinch their 27th top flight title last year.
