The academy system is gradually gaining grounds in Ghana as the sure way of honing and developing talents of up and coming footballers in the country.

One academy that has made great strides and taking this objective to another level in its five-year history is Decent Soccer Academy at Sefwi Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.

As part of the outfit’s aim of developing talents and getting young footballers abreast with the modern trends in the game, periodic training tours are undertaken by the academy against others of their kind in other countries.

One of such events recently took place in South Africa aided by Christian Progressive College in Pretoria, South Africa.

The impressive showing of the academy’s products; Isaac Frimpong, Bob Reynolds Offin, Patrick Addai, Cobbinah Stephen, John Owusu, Rocky Opoku,Dua Williams and Michael Nkoah has caught the eyes of some South African clubs and negotiations are underway to get some of the players into their youth systems.

Meanwhile Decent Soccer Academy with its strong ties with LA Galaxy (USA) and Galatasaray (Turkey) has put together a trip to some selected European countries next month in another training tour.
