Orlando Pirates centre back Edwin Gyimah says conceding goal from mistakes gives him sleepless nights.

Gyimah played as a defensive midfielder when he was with SuperSport United and Mpumalanga Black Aces, but Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler prefers to deploy Ghanaian in the central position role.

“When I make a mistake that leads to a goal I don’t sleep at night. It keeps me thinking all the time and I try my best to fix it,” said Gyimah.

The former midfielder was frustrated by the lack of game time when he first moved to Pirates.

He subsequently had a meeting with Tinkler on getting a place in the starting line-up.

"When I arrived, I went four games without playing. I asked the coach what I needed to do to play and we discussed it and I did it. Everyone at Pirates can play.

"Sometimes the coach has to make tough decisions so it’s up to us to be ready when the chance comes.”
