French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah highlighted his impressive performance in the French top-flight by assisting a goal for Caen who restored their winning run with a 2-0 triumph over GFC Ajaccio on Saturday.

The 23-year-old weighed in a tailor-made cross from his favourite right foot for Â French born naturalized Beninese defender Emmanuel Imorou to cushion the lead for the hosts as they returned to their winning formula after losing at Lorient in midweek.

Appiah scored 7.3/10 per WhoScored - the renowned football statistics providers, ratings of the player in the game.

The right-back was born to Ghanaian parents in the French town of Toulouse and has featured for the European country at various youth levels - U16 to U20 but is yet to be capped by France.

The former AS Monaco player has not spoken of his interest in playing for Ghana while the Ghana FA has not made any contact with the defender.

Caen fans hailed the defender for his performance after the game.
