Namibia U23 coach Woody Jacobs believes his team deserved to beat Ghana’s U20 team in their 1-1 international friendly draw played in Accra on Sunday.

The Namibians who are in a training tour in Ghana thrilled fans at the Accra Sports Stadium with their skillful display in the thrilling game that ended in a draw.

The Black Satellites had to come from behind to redeem themselves with the draw having gone behind to a superb strike from Jangu Gomez after 21 minutes.

Prosper Kasim however pulled Ghana level nine minutes later to open up the already entertaining game.

The game however disappointingly ended up with a draw but the Namibian coach believes his side should have clinched the victory against their Ghanaian juniors.

“I think we deserved to win the game, we had some good chances to win it,” Jacobs told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We were put under pressure at times by Ghana but I think we managed that quite well.

“But all in all, I think we played some good football and we deserved to win the game.”

The Namibians clinched a 1-0 win over Ghana Premier League re-entrants Fetteh Feyenoord earlier on in their training tour of Ghana.

The match against the Black Satellites offers the team a good platform on which to test themselves ahead of their ultimate African Youth Championship qualifier against Gabon.
