Asante Kotoko former coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani has made a despicable revelation claiming he was ordered not to speak English to Kotoko players as the players do not understand the language.

The CAF Technical Instructor in an interview with Ghanasoccernet.com revealed that he struggled to get the management of the club to understand his philosophy during his early days at the club but eventually had them on his side after they understood him.

In the despicable revelation, Didi Dramani said late board member of the club Jerry Asare ordered him not to speak English to the players as the players do not understand the language.

He added that Jerry Asare also asked him not to use Ipad in coaching since he appears so sophisticated.

“At the end of my first round in my first season at Kotoko, during Dr. K.K Sarpong’s era, we met to evaluate the first round. I, Dr. Sarpong, the late Jerry Asare and some few others,” Didi said.

“I remember the late Jerry Asare said I like keeping my Ipad too much and coaching is m ore practical. And I told him I need to plan on paper before I go to the field.”

“… and we all laughed over it. There were other comments that I don’t speak twi to the players and I always speak English to the players meanwhile they don’t understand the language.”

“So that day when I returned to training, Kwabena Adusei was speaking English to me and I told him I have been ordered not to speak English again,” Didi concluded.

The former Kotoko gaffer won two league trophies and one FA Cup trophy in his thirty month stay with the Porcupine Warriors and admits that certain things that may not be regarded important are held in high esteem with the club.
