Former Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has denied allegations he splashed the nation's cash on 'the hips of women' during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The seasoned politician was giving evidence in day two of his encounter with Presidential Commission set up to probe Ghana's disastrous campaign at the World Cup.

Afriyie Ankrah who has since been appointed Minister of State at the Presidency in a highly emotional session dismissed vile allegations he splashed cash on women during his time in Brazil.

"My Lord it is not true that I splashed dollars on the hips of women in Brazil," a highly charged Afriyie Ankrah told the commission when he was given the opportunity to clear the ear on numerous allegations leveled against him.

"It is also not true that my wife offered catering services during the World Cup."

Chairman of the commission Justice Senyo Dzemefe had earlier delayed proceedings to allow for the ex Sports Minister to regain his composure after breaking down in tears as he recounted events that led to Ghana's shameful exit from the World Cup.

Proceedings have since been adjourned to Monday where Afriyie Ankrah is to re-appear.
