Dnipro striker Nikola Kalinic has launched a shocking attack of his former Ghanaian team-mate Samuel Inkoom, labelling the defender as a 'waste of money' not worth the â‚¬7.5 million paid to sign the former Asante Kotoko star.

The astonishing unprovoked attack comes from the player Inkoom considered to be his close friend when he was with the Dnipro before he left which leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Inkoom joined the Ukranian giants from Swiss side FC Basel for the huge amount in 2011 and impressed in his first season at the club steering them to many laurels.

But the Ghanaian fell out with the club after he defied their orders not to play for the Black Meteors which led to him being axed from the first team.

However, the Croatian international, speaking after Dnipro's heartbreaking defeat to Sevilla in the final of Uefa Europa League, said the club wasted money on the former Asante Kotoko player who was signed from Swiss side FC Basel.

"This team has been built over four years, and has not changed much in the past three seasons," he told Goal.com.

"In the summer of 2011, when I joined from Blackburn, there were a lot of transfers, players came from all over. Some of them didn’t stay long even though they were bought for big money.

"For example, right-back Samuel Inkoom came from Basel, the transfer fee was €7.5 million, and he lasted for only a season and half."

Inkoom spent a season and half at the Ukrainian side after falling out with the club's officials over international duty.
