Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Asamoah says it will be too harsh to blame the Ghana Football Association for the disqualification of the U-17 from the 2015 African Junior Championship.

Cameroon protested against Ghana after for fielding a player whose age was in doubt.

CAF ruled the Ghana FA goofed by playing Isaac Twum of Heart of Lions in the first leg of the final qualifier played in Yaoundé which Ghana won 3-1.

Ghana have only been banned from playing at next year’s tournament but eligible to feature in other youth tournament.

Asamoah says the Football Association can’t be blamed for the mishap in the MRI reading.

“I know many people will say the GFA but for me that is not it,” he told GHANASoccernet.com

“I think they employed somebody and paid him so let’s not make it look like they did all on their own.

“The person who was employed and paid to do a job did not do a good job, and I think I like the decision the GFA is taking against the radiologist.’’
