Kwame Baah-Nuako insists ex Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. K.K Sarpong has no insterest in returning to football management, much less run for Presidency of the Ghana FA.

The Chartered Accountant surprisingly resigned from his post as Executive Chairman of the club late last year over reasons yet to be made public.

Dr. Sarpong was praised mainly to his unique branding of Kotoko and their several beneficial partnership agreements with clubs abroad.

He also came in for massive flak for his perceived lack of transparency in running the club – during which period Kotoko won back-to-back Premier League titles.

“I want to make it clear that Dr. K.K Sarpong has no interest in returning to football,”

“He has never had the ambition to remain in the game for long and that was why it was so easy for him to walk away when the time came.

Rumours fast gaining grounds suggests Dr. Sarpong intends returning to football management as a route to run for next year’s Ghana FA Presidency.

But Baah Nuakoh speaking on behalf of Dr. Sarpong on the Academic and Matured Sports program on Metro FM says these rumours are ‘palpably false’.

“People come around to consult him [Dr. Sarpong] on football and management issues due to his experience but nothing of trying to come back to football much less run for Presidency,” he said.

“So I have been instructed by Dr. Sarpong to make it known that he is not interested in returning to football and that rumours of him running a football club or running for Presidency are palpably false.

“He doesn’t need football to be who he is. Those who knew him knew this fact.

“These are machinations of people doing their football politics and he is clearly not interested.”
