Dunkwa United head coach Yaw Acheampong hopes to make a flying start to his side’s Division One League promotional play-off campaign.

The ex-international midfielder leads his side against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday in their opener.

They face former Premiership side Eleven Wise at the same venue on 29 April before finishing their campaign in Zone II with a clash against Fetteh Feyenoord.

Acheampong says his players are in the right mood to seal a historic Premier League slot.

“My players are well aware of the battle ahead and they are leaving no stone unturned,” the former AshantiGold coach told Solar FM’s Emmanuel Baah-Aboagye.

“Their attitude and response to training and my tactics has been excellent so far and I can tell you that my players are poised for Premier League action

“For me, the only way to ensure qualification is getting off to a flying start. A first win would motivate the players a lot and that is what I hope for on Friday against Gold Stars.

“We know our opponents so well and we respect them as well. It is down to us to map up a strategy to make things count in our favour.

“We need the help of God and that of our teeming supporters to realize this dream of making it to the First Capital Premier League next season.”

Dunkwa FC topped the Zone 2A table with 33 points; eight more than runners-up Gold Stars.
