Two Dutch-born Ghanaians are set to be named in the Ajax Amsterdam first team squad for the upcoming season as they have been named in the Dutch giants' team to face Spanish side Real Sociedad in a pre-season friendly.

Ajax manager Frank de Boer has promoted young defender Kenny Tete (18) into his first team ranks alongside right-back Leroy Owusu (17).

The Eredivisie champions have begun preparations in earnest for the upcoming season as they are billed for both domestic and European challenges.

The youngsters, both members of the Ajax reserves squad last season, have been given a chance to impress their manager for first team shots.

However, the duo will have to compete for one slot as they are all right-backs.

While Tete starts the game against Sociedad, Owusu is likely to come off the bench as a second-half replacement.
