Dwarfs out to burn Petro Atletico in Confederation Cup

Ebusua Dwarfs are ready to dust themselves off the string of poor results in the Ghanaian top-flight when they host Angolan giants Petro Atletico on Sunday.

The Mysterious Club reached the first round after eliminating Senegalese side FC Jaraaf while their opponents - Petro, progressed 3-2 on aggregate after beating Mozambican side African Stars.

Dwarfs are not faring well enough in the domestic league as they are languishing in the relegation zone (17 points from 18 games and lie second from bottom)

Within four days, Professor Kwesi Mintah's side tested their strength against the two most glamorous clubs in Ghana, leaders Asante Kotoko and second-placed Hearts of Oak.

But they could only pick a point from both games after drawing scoreless with Hearts in Accra.

Striker Richard Gadze scored two times in his last three league games for Dwarfs and he will be hoping to repeat his performance against Petro.

The Angolans are no strangers to Ghanaian soil as they have faced Ghanaian side giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the past.

Petro Atletico signed Ghanaian striker Ben Acheampong who was capped once by the Black Stars in 2012.

The Luanda-based side reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
