Dwarfs explain Sumaila loan to Kotoko

Ebusua Dwarfs say defender Rashid Sumaila was allowed to join champions Asante Kotoko in the best interest of the club and and player.

The Cape Coast-based side reached a deal with Kotoko to allow the 19-year-old to join on a season-long loan on Monday.

"We agreed to allow Sumaila to join Kotoko because you know next season Kotoko will be playing in the Caf Champions League and we believe that is a good platform for him," Dwarfs chairman Nana Aidoo told Accra-based Peace FM.

According to the agreement, Kotoko have the first option of signing the Ghana defender on a permanent basis.
