Ebusua Dwarfs head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum disagrees with claims of bribery in the Ghana Premier League insisting he doesn’t believe the phenomenon really exists.

Speaking to GHANAsoccernet.com on the phenomenon, the University of Cape Coast lecturer argued that he has never experienced anything like that in his career which makes him believe that it is just a fallacy.

“I can confidently say that I don’t know about that phenomenon. To be honest with you I have never seen or experienced it before so I don’t uphold it,” he said.

“I have never paid or received anything called bribery before and all the matches I have won with Dwarfs is through proper preparation and hard work.

“Proper preparation and good preparation is the best bribe you can pay to your players.

“Even if the phenomenon exists and a referee wants to award you a penalty because you have bribed him, how can the referee award you the penalty if you don’t work hard? He quizzed.

He advised that if others are engaged in the act, they should desist from it because it is not good for the image of our game.

“Issues about bribery must be condemned unequivocally if they happen in our game. It is not good for our game and it takes the hard work of players away,” he added.

The issue of bribery has dominated the headlines in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
