Ghana top-flight side Ebusua Dwarfs say they will pay the medical bills of referee Kyeremanteng after he was beaten up by fans of the club.

The match official is recovering in hospital after some Dwarfs fans gave him some severe beating following their match against Aduana Stars in the top-flight league on Sunday.

Kyeremanteng disallowed a late goal in their game played at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast which allowed the visitors to run away with a 1-0 victory.

Dwarfs chairman Nana Aidoo says they will foot the bills for the medical expenses of the referee.

"We accept that what happened in Cape Coast was not good and as the first measure we want to visit the referee in hospital and pay his medical bills," Aidoo said.

"What happened was not nice."

Security officials and some media personnel at the match were also beaten up by the fans.

The decision to disallow the late goal led to the attack on the referee and Aidoo refused to apologise for the conduct of his fans on Monday.

But after being subjected to intense criticism for his comments, Aidoo has changed his mind and offered his apology to the Ghana football fraternity.
