Each Ghana U20 player pocketed US$ 6,000 for reaching the last 16 of the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in New Zealand.

The amount represented qualification bonuses from the group to the 1/16th stage of the tournament .

According to Graphic Sports sources, each of the three matches attracted $2,000, making a total of $6,000 for the qualification bonuses.

But officials of the team, apart from the head coach Sellas Tetteh, received $3,000 each.

“I can confidently tell you that the Black Satellites have received their bonuses two weeks ago.

The delay was not deliberate on the part of the Ministry, sometimes there are delays in the release of the funds from government," Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah told the Graphic Sports.
