Ebusua Dwarfs helmsman Professor J.K Mintah has blamed fatigue for their 2-1 home defeat against New Edubiase in an outstanding First Capital Premier League game on Thursday.

The Mysterious side were shell shocked at home after Bismark Idan scored the match winner on the stroke of full time to hand the visitors the maximum points in Cape Coast.

Dwarfs arrived in the country from Senegal on Tuesday night after qualifying to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup at the expense of Jaraaf FC.

Professor Mintah said he was not out to make excuses for the defeat but tiredness did play a big part in the setback.

“There were plenty of tired bodies out there, our trip to Senegal has taken its toll on us,” said Professor Mintah

“We came back on Tuesday night and had to play this game. You must understand that some of the players had not even travelled outside Ghana before.

“They were very tired and that had an effect on the team.We have to forget about the defeat and look ahead to the next game."

The Cape Coast-based side will travel to Kumasi to face Kotoko in the last outstanding fixture on Sunday.

Dwarfs are deeply involved in the relegation trap zone where they lie second from bottom.
