Ebusua Dwarfs have confirmed the appointment of J.E Sarpong as their new coach.

The veteran trainer takes over from Professor J.K Mintah who vacated his post after the Black Stars international friendly against Montenegro.

Dwarfs Chief Executive Nana Aidoo has confirmed the ex-Aduana Stars trainer will take charge of the side.

“I can confirm to you that J.E Sarpong has been appointed as the new coach of Dwarfs,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“He brings wealth of experience to bear on the job and we’re hopeful that he can guide the side to safety.

“Professor Mintah did not resign from the team. He vacated his post on his own volition.”

The future of Professor Mintah has been a matter of intense media debate after the side lost 4-0 against Angolan side Petro Athletico.

Fans of the Cape Coast-based side have been unhappy with his seeming lack of loyalty and commitment to the club.

Sarpong returns to top-flight duties, six months after leaving fellow Premier League side Aduana Stars.

He will be in the stands to watch his new side at Tarkwa as they battle Medeama in the First Capital Plus Premier League match.

Dwarfs have endured a difficult campaign this term where they lie rock-bottom but have two outstanding matches to clear.
