New Edubiase's participation in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup is in grave danger following the death of their chief financier  David Lamptey.

The former NDC Member of Parliament gave up the ghost at the 37 Military hospital in Accra on Wednesday after battling illness.

The demise of the ex-Chief Executive of fertilizer company, Sidalco Ghana Limited, is a major blow to the Bekwai-based side who are billed to play in the continental competition for the first time.

Lamptey’s financial contribution made Edubiase one of the fearsome side in the country’s top-flight.

Edubiase were hoping to rely on the financial muscle of the late Lamptey to aid their campaign in the CAF Confederation cup and his death will greatly affect their plans.

It’s immediately unknown if  Edubiase will pull out of the competition due to the huge financial burden that will be brought to bear on the team in the wake of the death of the philanthropist.
