Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah has fired a salvo at his former coach Cavin Johnson in explaining his shock move from SuperSport United to join Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Johnson had claimed last week that the versatile midfielder feared competition at the club following theà arrival of Michael Morton fromà Maritzburg Unitedà as well asà Morne Nelââ¬â¢s.
But the 23-year-old has told Kickoff.com that the coach played a key role in his exit after finding out he had no plans for him this season.
ââ¬ÅFrom what I heard from the club, the coach didnââ¬â¢t want me anymore,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅI have always wanted to stay but, if they donââ¬â¢t want me there, if the coach doesnââ¬â¢t want me â⬦I had to leave."
The former Wa All Stars player added that: ââ¬ÅI never knew something like this would happen. I was surprised too, but if someone doesnââ¬â¢t want you, you have to find a way and go ahead with your life.
ââ¬ÅIf I had to stay I would have spent my time on the bench or in the stands. He [Johnson] took a decision; he decided my future at the club.ââ¬
