Elmina Sharks coach Kobina Amissah has expressed his disappointment over his side’s inability to qualify to the Premier League.

The Elmina-based side could only manage a barren game against Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday, which effectively rules them out of contention to pick the sole ticket available in zone two.

Despite the huge financial backing from President Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, Sharks failed to oust their rivals in the Premier League chase and are now counting their losses.

“It’s very painful but we had the chance to win this game which we didn’t,” he said

“We created several chances but unfortunately, we could not utilize any of them.

“I’m obviously disappointed and sad but we have to congratulate Dwarfs for qualifying to the Premier League. We’ll live to fight another day.”

Sharks were hoping to secure qualification to make the newly constructed Nduom sports complex a meaningful venture but will have to wait another year to attempt qualification.
