Ghana Premier League side Elmina Sharks have opened talks with Hearts of Oak coach Frank Nuttal, according to media reports.

The Scotsman, whose reign began in February, last year, has been asked to step aside temporarily for breaching the club's code of conduct last Monday.

Reports in the media however, indicate that the Elmina-based side are in advanced talks with the 49-year-old to take up reins of the club ahead of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season.

"It is true that there have been talks between Doctor [Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom] and coach Frank Nuttal," an official of Elmina Sharks told Kickgh.com

"We want to finish in the top four this season and with the addition of Frank Nuttal to our technical team will make it achievable."

The reports further stated that former Gor Mahia trainer is ready to tender his resignation letter to the Accra-based giants in the coming days.

Nuttal guided the Phobians to a finish 3rd place finish in the Ghana Premier League last term and also qualified them to the finals of the MTN FA Cup, where they were humbled 3-1 by sworn adversaries Asante Kotoko.
