From a relegation-threatened zone, Ghanaian winger Elvis Manu has lifted Cambuur to a mid-table place and they are now in competition for a place in the Europa League.
The 20-year-old Feyenoord loanee was on the scoresheet for Cambuur on Friday night and set upà Martijn Barto when they overcame RKC Waalwijk 3-2 at the Cambuurstadion.
Manu could not afford to hold down a regular place in the Feyenoord team at the start of the season despite impressing in pre-season and Cambuur came in for him during the break.
And, since his arrival, the attacker has been of great influence scoring 5 times in 10 games and providing as many as 5 assists for his team-mates.
Before his arriving, Cambuur were fighting with the dangers of relegation but after 28 games and 6 more left to draw down the curtains on the season, Cambuur have climbed to ninth place and are in strong contention for a place in the Europa League play-off.
Manu's impressive form in the league is not going unwatched as Holland head coach Louis van Gaal and U23 coach Patrick Kluivert are planning of handing him an invitation.
