Would-be Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu finally made his debut for English side Brighton & Hove Albion when they held a ten-man Wolverhampton Wanderers side to a 0-0 stalemate in the English Championship on Saturday.

The 22-year-old tramped out of the Molineux Stadium dug-out in the 46th minute to wild applause from the travelling Seagull fans as he replaced Israeli international Tomer Hemed who had his penalty saved by on-loan Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in the 23rd minute.

Hemed could not continue the game after the recess and Manu was introduced by manager Chris Hughton as his replacement before restart of the game.

He created a great chance for Jamie Murphy to claim victory in the 78th minute for the Seagulls but he narrowly missed.

Manu had appeared on the Brighton substitute in midweek's 2-1 triumph over Rotherdam United but failed to make his debut before home fans.

However he had his first taste of English football in the substitute appearance and demonstrated good attacking qualities; showing promise in abundance as well as causing problems for the host defence.

The former Feyenoord star, who has featured for European giants Netherlands, has applied for a nationality switch to enable him play for Ghana.
