A star-studded delegation full of Ghanaian football stars, musicians and movie stars have arrived in Kumasi for the 2015 Stars Soccer Fiesta.

The array of stars, headlined by captains of Ghana and Togo Asamoah Gyan and Emmanuel Adebayor respectively were swamped by fans in virtually all the stops they made in a massive road show to Kumasi which lasted over eight hours.

The road show saw the parading of some of the most luxurious automobiles mainly from the stables of Emmanuel Adebayor and Asamoah Gyan as a police escorted convoy of close to 30 cars breezed through some of the remotest enclaves in Ghana to cheers from stunned onlookers.

The celebrity group which also included Black Stars duo; Jonathan Mensah and Christian Atsu converged at the Accra Mall on Saturday morning but weren’t able to set off until noon.

It was fun throughout once the luxurious fleet of cars hit the streets.

Through Madina, Adenta to the mountains of Aburi, there was no stopping the endless fun albeit with the challenge of some poor roads and eventually bad weather with the rains endlessly tearing down.

The convoy made its first major stop in Koforidua where Emmanuel Adebayor and Asamoah Gyan were hosted briefly on a live radio show at Bryte FM.

The excited fans were not to be deterred by the rain as they waited steadfastly outside to catch a glimpse of some of the stars they were only used to seeing on television.

Traffic was completely jammed for the about 30 minutes stop with motorist understandably waiting patiently for the convoy to resume its trip.

Another a stop was made at Paradise in Bunsu to allow for the obviously tiring traveling pack to have a meal, interact with their fans and freshen up for the remainder of the journey.

A planned stop at Konongo had to be scrapped due to the endless pouring rain.

The delegation finally made its way to Kumasi where travelers were checked into the Golden Tulip, Cee Ta Kel and Rees Hotels for an earned rest ahead of Sunday’s activities which include a massive cleanup exercise by the stars and also a donation at a Children’s Home in Pampaso.

The main event of the Star Soccer Fiesta – a fun game between professional football stars and celebrity entertainers – will then come off later in the day at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
