Emmanuel Frimpong, once on at loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham, is heartbroken by Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Emmanuel Frimpong may have failed to succeed at Arsenal, but he still holds the North London club close to his heart.

The Ghana international midfielder was a highly-rated prospect at the Gunners and made his debut for the first team in 2011.

However, the 22-year-old suffered injuries and could not quite make a huge impact at the Emirates Stadium, going on to play on loan for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Fulham before leaving Arsenal on a permanent basis in January 2014.

Now at Russian club FC Ufa, Frimpong is still following the fortunes Arsenal. The youngster was watching Saturday’s Premier League clash between Arsene Wenger’s side and Manchester United, and he was understandably disappointed with the result.

"Arsenal you broke my heart," he tweeted.

Frimpong’s ‘pain’ will be shared by all Arsenal fans, who watched the Gunners concede twice in the second half to suffer a 2-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium. Despite Arsenal having long spells of dominance, it was United who snapped up the three points, leaving the 2006 Champions League finalists eighth in the Premier League table, two points off the top four.
