Winger Richard Mpong has made a chilling revelation about how he was coldshouldered at the club for unwarranted bribery allegation against him.

In an emotional tale, the 25-year-old says he was ostracized by the team following claims of bribery against him after the side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Algerian side side El Eulma in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League in April this year, which ended their campaign amid anger against players of the club.

The former Medeama winger has been granted a transfer request after revealing he was unfairly treated by the club over the allegation which subsequently affected his first team opportunities.

The Ghana international claimed he did not get the backing of management during his difficult moment at the club, prompting his decision to seek challenge elsewhere following the expiration of his contract.

“It’s true I sent in a transfer request which has been granted. I was not getting enough playing time and so I thought it wise to seek a move elsewhere.

“My problem at the club started when I was accused of taking a bribe from the Algerians during the CAF Champions League against El Eulma. I was shocked when I heard the news in the media," he told capital-based Peace FM

“Since then I was banished from first team football and played a handful of games for the club.

“I was deeply hurt that management did not even support me or investigate the matter to know the veracity of such a serious matter. I came to the firm conclusion that I was not needed anymore and so I have decided to move on.”

Mpong has been capped once by Ghana.
